Lois Lilley Howe opens her own architecture practice.

[1893] She is joined by Eleanor Manning in 1913 and Mary Almy in 1926, and the firm Howe, Manning and Almy becomes the first women’s architecture firm in Boston. It continues until Howe’s retirement in 1937.
